I was just listening to various discussions on Landen Lucas and a thought occurred to me, here is a future coach. Everyone talks about how smart he is and how he understands and analyzes the game. He is well spoken. Has a little nastiness.
Thoughts?

I'm just thinking about his future next year. A lot of his value is that he makes Perry better. He knows where to be and not be to support Perry. And is happy being the workman instead of the star (although 14 its and 11 rebounds in a Sweet 16 games will get you noticed nationally). I expect he will be delighted to do the same next year for Diallo and Bragg. He will be an anchor to allow them to do more freelance. should be fun!

First he is going to play some pro basketball overseas or maybe even in the NBA. I can't believe that I'm actually predicting a career for him as a player, but he's improved so much this season that I'm confident he will make a nice living in the game.

Was an excellent use of a 'redshirt'. Always amazes me how guys can wait in the wings and then step up big. Great that he will be back next year to anchor.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
He'll definitely play professionally. He'll easily find work in Europe if the NBA doesn't want him.
Timing is also a great benefit for us right now. As a Junior, he's not only made great leaps skill wise, but he's probably not ready to go pro just yet. If he comes back next year as I think he will, I can see him getting a LOT more attention and improve even more.
Finally as per my topic, at 6'11" he's got the body to be a pro. Lots of guys get a shot at the NBA based largely on size alone. The fact that he's got size and improving skills lead me to believe that somebody will pay him to play ball.
I doubt he'll ever be an all star or anything like that, but making a pro roster and being a role player for a few years in the NBA isn't such a horrible way to make a living.
