I think we survived the really bad ref crew.

Or at least one of the really bad ones.

The only redeeming characteristic of this crew was IMO they were evenly bad. So many missed calls, badly missed calls.

Just glad they didn't hurt KU winning.

Unfortunately, we didn't escape a really biased set of CBS announcers. Very little love or respect shown by those clowns for our team.

Ref crew missing obvious double dribble, a dribble by Jamari off of an oppenent's foot, and numerous weird contact issues.

As for CBS, screw 'em. We won.

I agree. Those announcers were making my blood boil. Jeez. The refs were ridiculously bad too.

Agreed, bad calls went both ways but I thought Maryland especially did a lot of walking with the ball that wasn't called.

We beat Maryland's five in the floor, the ref's three in the floor and the three announcers from CBS. Sound like a trifeca we can enjoy! RC

I had to mute it early on because it was beyond annoying

It'll feel better when it stops hurting

Another case of touch fouls called and hard fouls ignored, esp. early on.
As annoying as that was, Grant Hill's inability to hide his obvious ACC bias was much worse (yeah, I know MD is B1G now).

Obviously I didn't hear them because I was at the arena. But if they were bad tonight, it will get worse Saturday, in as much as Raftery is a HUGE Big East homer (Nova formerly from there) and eats and drinks East Coast teams and schools. I know he likes Villanova lot, so you can add him to the mix of Grant Hill (rooting against us). I'm surprised Nantz is that way...I always thought he was pretty fair to KU. Maybe it's because we're the overall #1 seed and many announcers can't help but succumb to rooting for the Giant's fall from grace?

Yep....root, root, root for the UNderdog........

Also KU is in flyover country and if you aren't a coast team.....forget it, you don't much exist....Kansas? Huh?.

For example:
Last night on the local CBS "sports wrap up" after the games.....it seems like ALL the locals could do was gush because The Almighty Kobe was at the Honda Center to watch his Team USA coach, kryzerooskilmnop, and Duke play. Then Oregon cleaned the proverbial clock for Puke.

(better head to the campus convenience store for that snickers, huh?)

At one point during the UCONN game, when we were up by 15, Nantz says, "UCONN keeps hanging around!" Huh? I suppose maybe he was just trying to add a little interest to a game whose outcome was pretty much decided. But, still.....Of course, the best way for KU to close some blathering mouths will be to win the whole deal. I think that's exactly what's going to happen!

"UCONN keeps hanging around"...

What was he expecting. "Geez guys, we're getting spanked here. Let's leave early."

I agree. Just win the whole damn thing and shut 'em up.

during the tourney. I'll miss Bob's last game, unless someone posts it on youtube like with the '08 championship.
