Based on the DPPI KU has the highest probability of winning in the round of Sweet 16. KU has a 68.7% probability of winning. North Carolina is a slight favorite over Indiana at 51.5%. I kind of would like to see Indiana win but I kind of want to kick some Tar Heel butt in the National Championship game. All of the Sweet 16 matchups look to be pretty good games. KU is a strong favorite but all the others look to be pretty close. As for the link someone posted about a Maryland doing an analysis and picking MD to win he made a typical mistake. He tried to compare KU to MD position by position. That is all fine and good but that ignores perhaps the most important factor. With KU the total exceeds the sum of the parts by way more than it does for MD. I don't necessarily disagree with his position by position analysis but if you do a position by position individual analysis Baylor could be a National Champion. KU, thanks to Coach Self, makes a team that is so much more than the sum of the parts, and the parts are pretty impressive. I like KU's chances because KU is fundamentally solid. If the 3 point is not working they can adapt. If the inside is not working they can adapt. The are smarter and more fundamentally solid than almost every team in the country. I have KU as a 7.1 point favorite with a standard devisation of 10. So sure, they can lose but the smart money will be on KU.

I hear ya, Corpus, but we've beaten UNC on our way to the title game already*, so I'd rather like to see our guys make up a little for Doc Allen's two NCAA NC losses to Indiana (1940, 1953) this year if possible.

*Twice, actually, with KU winning it all in 2008 and just running out of time in 2012. And then handling the tarred ones again in the 2013 NCAAs. Although I must confess I really like our odds if it comes down to Bill & Roy in the title game. The only time Roy has ever beaten Bill was in the 2002 NCAAs, when Roy was still our guy and Bill was at Illinois. In 5 meetings between the two coaches, Bill is 4-1 against Roy, 3-0 with KU. Bill's bane has been OSU, Roy's has been KU. May the latter always prove true!
