Assuming Oregon holds on to win their game, the left side of the overall bracket (KU's side) is loaded with almost pure "chalk"--with all of the top teams still standing:
South (KU): 1, 2, 3, 5 seeds alive* (KU, Villanova, Miami, Maryland)
* And really, Maryland was arguably the better team than Cal, so for all intents and purposes it's pure chalk in my mind--1,2,3,4 alive
West: 1, 2, 3, 4 seeds alive* (Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Duke)
* Assuming Oregon wins...
As for the other side of the bracket?
East: 1, 5, 6, 7 seeds alive (UNC, Indiana, Notre Dame, Wisconsin)
Midwest: 1, 4, 10 11 (Virginia, Iowa State, Gonzaga, Syracuse)
Bottom line: the ultimate winner of the left side of the bracket faces a major gauntlet, relative to that of the right side...which is, to be brutally frank, a complete joke--especially the presence of mediocre Gonzaga, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin).
But...dem's the breaks. Lace 'em up and get it done. And yes, Just win, Baby!
