It did not look like a 15 seed playing out of their head. They played like they belonged there. This is maybe the biggest NCAA Tourney upset I can remember. Bigger than Duke, bigger than Iowa St.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!

Agreed, Corpus. To me, it's the equivalent of a 16 vs. 1 upset. I think MSU was the "money" pick along with KU to win it all.

This is the biggest upset in tournament history folks. Remember, that Michigan State had the best stats, great ken pom ranks, etc of a legit #1 seed. Only they were snubbed and Oregon got the 1 seed. They also won the Big 10 tournament. This is essentially what may be the only 16 over 1 upset that we will ever see (even if technically it was a 15 over 2).

Finally, Sparty and Izzo regressed straight to the bottom and have experienced the heartache of a first round loss as a top 4 seed. As a KU fan this makes me very happy. We finally have ammunition against the people who always say KU chokes in the tournament. Well, Duke has lost twice in the first first round in recent years, Kentucky lost in the first round of the NIT, North Carolina has flamed out early in recent years, and now you can add Michigan State to the list of favorites who lost way too early. It just goes to show that any team can lose to anyone in the ncaa touranment. A teams bad performance is not solely due to poor coaching as anti-KU pundits love to point out. Sometimes it's simply that the underdog played better than favorite for one night and pulled off the upset.

This is why we love March Madness and this is why it's the greatest postseason in all of sports. With that said I hope we beat Uconn by 30 points tomorrow. I will be at the Royals vs Rangers game at the Alamodome in San Antonio and then I will head to a bar and watch the KU game with other Royal/Jayhawk fans. San Antonio will be rockin and chalkin tomorrow!!! You can bet on it!!!

Crimson and blue looks so much better than burnt orange!!!

"What the h**** is going on out here?!?"

Figures I would miss the end of the biggest upset so far (other obligations)!

Congrats to MTSU!

Has Izzo *ever* lost in game 1 before?

The table below is Izzo's record in the Big Dance. He has lost 4 times in round 1. Twice he was upset as a 7 against an 11. The other 2 losses were as a 10 seed and an 11 seed.

As I said elsewhere, I hope our Jayhawks are paying attention to the fact that anyone can win. They need to focus and play hard against UConn.
