“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Hope they give the TarHoles all that they can handle, and more!

UNC is highly regarded for their size and rebounding prowess (#12 in the land in rebounding margin per game). And yet, Dooley has his guys out-rebounding them so far, 18 to 11. They're only down a couple buckets with 2 minutes to go in the half.
It's EXACTLY the type of game I was hoping for. Watch Ole Roy and the TarHoles get their sphincters a bit tight!

This has to be pure hell for TarHole fans. Not only is their high-flying #1 seed being pushed to the wall (so far) by a "lowly" 16 seed...but it involves a former KANSAS coach. Roy has had serious issues, obviously, with KU since moving to UNC. And their fans just got to hear none other than Kevin Harlan saying, as they were cutting to half, that Joe Dooley is a former KANSAS assistant and pushing a former KU coach in Roy Williams.
I hope they can somehow keep this up. They're about a 1 million-to-one long shot to win this, but I had a feeling FGCU under Dooley would push them. Can they keep it up in the 2nd half? Who knows? But this is must-see TV just in the off chance they can do so! No 16 has ever defeated a 1. Could it happen tonight?

Down 21 with under 8 minutes left. Not helping that the refs seem very "tarred heel centric" to me. Hopefully Providence (or USC) can fill the tar holes and send them packing on Saturday.
