“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
I'll be watching this one as closely as I can...

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
UConn is doing what they do come tournament time. So-so during the season, go on a tear in the post-season.
I don't know what happened in the CU locker room at the half, but clearly the UConn one was very productive.

UConn looks like world beaters this half. Hope they use up their MOJO.

I hear and share your anxiety about them, given their history. (Did NOT want to draw them in 2nd round)
But two things:
* In their prior tourney runs, we were never one of their victims. So no history on their side vis-a-vis us.
* It's only one game, so not yet on a "tear." To get on one of those, KU would have to have a disaster Saturday. And I'm not going to even THINK such negative thoughts.
Let's just play OUR game and to OUR potential, and whatever UConn brings to the table won't matter. Because they can't beat us at their best.

UCONN is exactly the reason the NCAAT is a total free for all. Not to sound like I have sour grapes, but last two times UCONN has won, they had marginal regular seasons. It is frustrating that a program gets defined by performance in a crapshoot tournament and consistency is just "nice". Let's point out sacrifical lamb and if it is the Huskies let's skewer them "Korean" style...

UCONN has run a dirty program all these years yet they have suffered no consequences, 4 titles but the last two with players who were "seduced" to the program.

This is what ticks me off about the Tourney. Kevin Ollie has 1 title, HCBS has a title and yet Ollie is consisdered a great coach, often people have said better in game manager than HCBS. To

Refs just tried to hand the game to UConn with less than as minute to go. The steal by Gibbs was not a clean steal, he body slammed #44 CU in stealing the ball from him. Two made FTs for UConn.. 5 point lead instead of a possible 1 point lead if the FTs were being taken by CU.
