Got CU-UConn on the big screen, not looking good for Tad's Lads, darn it.
Got BU-Yale on the small screen TV, looking good so far.
Anxiously but confidently awaiting the KU game today.
Had a Tornado WARNING for Leavenworth, Johnson, and other KS counties east of Lawrence and Douglas Co, and also for quite a few counties in MO. No word yet on what happened with it. Keeping fingers crossed.
OTHER THAN THAT, looking forward to KU Win #1 in this NCAA tournament.
LET'S GO, JAYHAWKS!

As fifth graders, most of them are not sports fans, let alone bball fans, so I explain a little about the tournament set-up, show them the KU Jayhawk, and tell them that if they see that symbol on the TV, to root hard for that team. It's a way to manufacture some support for our guys.

Some history - We both made it from our cattle ranch north of dodge to KU and have been hooked on basketball since. Actually it started for me when sissy took me for a beer at the Wheel when I was 16. Remember that like it was yesterday (actually 1967)
My monicker is the model of mainframe computer ku had when I took my first programming course. Got hooked on that as well big time. Still coding after all these years and loving it. Thanks ku for helping me find my passion and my living. Sure beats the hell out of punching cattle and assembling farm equipment.

So far the Texas contingent has failed miserably. I really hope that tu - as well as OU and WVU, of course -- does well tomorrow. But to be honest, I would be happy even if just OU and WVU advance, too.

I was able to see the game today and was impressed by Landen, Svi, and Lagerald. I was a little dismayed by the defensive play of the three starting guards. They were not moving their feet to beat their man to the spot before turning the corner.
I see the team as having the right spirit for a good tourney run. Self has them buying into the idea of enjoying the ride and hopefully that will take the pressure off of them, somewhat. Playing with intensity out of fun rather than fear seems to be the key.
With our big men stepping up, including Bragg and Diallo, we should make a deep, deep run.

I'm particularly curious how many UConn fans were on hand (guessing not many?), who the Indiana fans rooted for in the KU game, and if the UK fans were noticeably rooting against the Hawks. (It probably wasn't too easy to tell in such a blowout, but still...)
I'm just trying to get a bead on crowd atmospherics (leaning toward "friendly, neutral, or road/hostile") for Saturday's game.
Thanks!
