See this is what is wrong in American a 13 year old kid from Illinois that says he hates KU. Unless he is the son of MU parents, this young man is woefully misguided, yet his youthful ignorance is rewarded. I hope he fails miserably in his 2016 picks as it is obvious he won't pick KU. If I ever run into his snot nosed punk, may the lord have mercy on my soul.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Link doesn't work...

I'm guessing his father is a huge Univ of IL fan and spewed Self/KU obscenities all through this kid's life - based on the age in the article, this kid was born right around 2003...
Rock Chalk!

Sounds like one way to mess up the youngster's bracket is for KU to win some games.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
A kid got lucky and suddenly has a stage from which to express his ignorance. Naturally he made some comments that show his biases, he's a kid.
All his comment means to me is that KANSAS has been so good for so long that the Jayhawks totally rub him the wrong way for whatever -- or even all -- of the possible reasons already expressed in this thread.
Bottom line is that his opinion means -- or at least should mean -- next to nothing to us. Conversely, it can be looked at as a form of the highest regard for the program. Like UCLA in the 1960s and 70s, and Kentucky and especially Duke in recent years, there are people who are tired of hearing and seeing our brand because our guys have done so well for so long.
So let's just hope our guys totally ruin his bracket this year.

Exactly. It elicited a yawn from me.
News flash: "Some kid in Illinois hates Kansas!"
My son in Virginia hates ConTucky, the TarHoles, Puke, and Misery. So what... (As Bob Seger once said, "just a blade of grass in a great big field...")
“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
