“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

A hearty BRAVO ZULU to "The Enforcer," Joe Dooley, and the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in honor of their blowout opening win!
Joe was one of my all-time favorite KU assistants, and an integral part of so much of our success during the Bill Self era. I'm very happy for him and proud of his success, and now the reward for such a win is...
PLAYING THE TARHOLES!
Yes, I know that UNC will be favored by 25 (if not more), but here's the cool thing:
* Joe Dooley has never lost (in a coaching role) to Roy Williams and UNC. In fact, he was on the KU staff with Self when we thrashed them in '08 and when we took care of them in St. Louis in 2012.
* You know that Bill Self and crew will gladly and actively provide Joe with scouting and strategy thoughts for taking on UNC. Self has a nice track record against Ole Roy, and hopefully he'll share some tidbits that will help the Eagles play to the "David" role quite nicely against the UNC "Goliath."
Here's hoping they pull off the very first 16-over-1 upset in history, or at least make Roy, his staff, the players, and the fans of that "school which should be on probation" sweat profusely over a much tougher battle than they had bargained for.
Congrats again, Coach. Toughen up those boys and let it rip!

It's a very happy FGCU locker room when The Enforcer walks in:
