No update on anything with the scandal itself. Apparently no action is going to be taken until after the season due to UNC's expertly played stalling of the system. There is a documentary that's starting to make the rounds, but I doubt that an art house movie is going to disrupt the NCAA money printing machine.
Nevertheless, seeing them on the #1 seed line is extremely aggravating. Had the NCAA acted with any decisiveness, UNC would be done right now. Instead, they're benefitting from the #1 seed and are lining up not unlike Memphis did a couple years ago. God forbid they win the whole thing (I don't think they will) and THEN get nailed by the NCAA. Unlike Memphis, this one won't likely be taken away...creating a really neat loophole that cheaters can use: If the violations are in the past, stall the system until you get to play a full season, and THEN take your punishment moving forward.
Sadly I predict that UNC will do whatever it does in the tourney (but be given a full opportunity to play) and within a month of the end of the tournament, the NCAA will level a pretty huge penalty on them. Roy will either "retire" or stick around for a year of probation to hand the program off to somebody to take over when things are back online.
Anyway, just an emotional reaction to seeing them pop up as another 1 seed.
