Feel bad for the guy, had a very tough row to hoe.
And so begins that time of year again --
What goes up must come down.
Coaching carousel got to go round.
Find yourself a new job and make it stick.
Staying on that spinning wheel is such a trick!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
Any rumblings from Manhattan?
7 teams from the conference made the tourney. 2 of the 3 who didn't have fired their coach. Just saying...
Weber's record brings out a troubling trend:
>2012-13: 27-8 overall, 14-4 in conference, T-1 in Big 12, first round flameout in tourney
>2013-14: 20-13 overall, 10-8 in conference, 5th in Big 12, first round flameout in tourney
>2014-15: 15-17 overall, 8-10 in conference, T-6th in Big 12, missed tourney
>2015-16: 17-16 overall, 5-13 in conference, 8th in Big 12, missed tourney
I suppose you could make the case that they won 2 more games this year than last, but they lost 3 more in the conference. Also, his best year was when he took over and inherited Gipson, McGurder and Nino Williams who were all contributors.
Now they get snubbed for the NIT? Oh well.

I see Brad Underwood in their future:

From McPherson, KS. K-State grad with coaching ties there. Good coaching rep and would bring major loyalty/passion to the program.
But I get the sense KSU will wait one more year with Weber. The question becomes "Will Underwood still be around then, if they fire Weber next year?" I doubt very much he'd leave Stephen F. Austin for a non-appealing job like TCU, but some other gig might come up that is decent. I'd have to think, though, that he probably knows that K-State job could be his very soon, and it might very well be a destination gig for him.
TBD...

I agree that they'll give Weber 1 more year, but I think he's on a short leash for sure.
Underwood is a good guess. But as you say, it depends on who's in the market at any given time. Should be a fun coaching carousel this year, and knowing that OSU won't be talking about Self leaving KU for Boone Pickens' great green gobs of greasy grimy oil money, we won't be distracted.
Let the tourney play out, and then it's time to pop another tub of popcorn and watch the merry go round whirl.

Oh, I'm sure he'll make it clear publicly that he'd love to have Self (when he fires Ford pretty soon here), but I don't see that being an issue at all in terms of Self or KU being distracted.

I heard the other day and thought it was a done deal. I guess they're just waiting on the formal announcement. He's due quite a bit of money, so they're probably figuring out some details.
