“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
KU can't deal with WVU's havoc so far. Just pathetic. And zero answer for Williams, who is killing every big we put out there.
This doesn't look good right now. Hope that the boys make the necessary adjustments to turn this around.

We managed yesterday. Same thing. Half time speech did the job. Hope it works today

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
The guys have been breaking "press VA" easily, the problem has been not scoring once they do.
It's actually pretty even up right now, with KU turning them over at pretty much the same pace -- even more so at one point, but Wayne's head definitely needs adjustment. Except for Williams' impact (which has been huge, no doubt), and KU missing shots we normally hit (calm down, guys, especially you, Perry!), KU leads. Instead we have WVU up by 1.
Just 1. Not much of a lead for "dictating" the game.
And even then, that was because of a stupid mental mistake on our part at the end of the half, not holding the ball for the last shot.
To borrow an overused line, "inconceivable!"
However, Self has been real good getting the guys "reset" for the 2nd half in recent games. Here's to him doing so one more time before the last Big 12 T game is over.

By "havoc" I meant in the half court. Deflected lots of KU passes and really gummed up our flow.
So far, a much better job by the good guys in the 2nd half.

Here's to never letting up until the game is over.

Also, you misunderstood what I meant by "dictating" the game. That doesn't mean dominating it, it means dictating the style, pace, and flow of the game.
I humbly submit WVU definitely did that, and played their style of game, in the first half.
Thankfully, KU is dictating in the 2nd...
Keep it up, boys!

If KU had scored as easily as they broke the press, we would not be having this discussion of semantics
