C - did you explain the DPPI on the board at some point? It seems that you did - if so, I will try to find it. Is interesting in comparing the DPPI results with KenPom. Both have KU #2. He has VA #1 & MSU #3.. I read some betting results - MSU & KU are at top 5-1 to win NC.

DPPI is my proprietary formula for calculating the "power rating" or "predictor rating". It attempts to rate the teams in a manner that will accurately predict the scoring margin. Without going into gory detail it considers the following.
1. Average Scoring margin
2. Average scoring margin of all opponents
3. Average scoring margin of all opponents of opponents
4. Average scoring margin of all opponents of opponents of opponents
5. Average scoring margin of all opponents of opponents of opponents of opponents
6. Diminishing impact for games farther in the past (trending)
7. Increasing weight for games against higher rated opponents (mental toughness)
8. Home/Away/Neutral adjustment
9. Standard deviation adjustment to diminish the impact of outliers (i.s KU against OSU in Stillwater)
All of the various computer rankings use various adjustments including some of the above. Some systems give more weight to victories, some have a more robust home/away/neutral adjustment, some use stats other than scoring margin, etc. Mine is intended to be a predictor model.

It only looks at anything that is outside of a standard deviation from the projection regardless of the reason. It might be a bad night or it might be missing players.
