I often hear it said that guard play is the key to championships. Is there a better guard tandem in the country than Frank and Devonte'? Both score and both defend like junkyard dogs. In my judgment, these two lads can take us a long way down the road.

So true, Doc. We've suffered through years of guards who might have been talented but who were consistently careless with the ball.
It is a relief to have Frank and DeVonte as our floor generals. Rarely do either throw the ball to...............nobody.

Looking at stat lines- Perry and Georges basically canceled each other out with very similar stat lines. Comparing the Morris stats from game at ISU to yesterday's shows that OUR guards did a much better job of controlling THEIR guard. Same scenario for the Texas game. Since we have 2 guards playing better D on the engine of these teams with one elite guard one of our guards should be fresh enough on any given possession to make an impactful offensive play!

Point confirmed- along with the emergence of Landon at the 5, the improved D by our 2 guards (all Big 12 defensive team) is the major development from the early season that allowed us to repeat as league champs!
