“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
It's so nice to see him emerging.

Minerscoach, you must be particularly happy, since you've been hoping he'd get his chance and then deliver on it.
PS: Senex, Keegan mentions a scenario where, at times (probably just for a couple minutes here and there), the Hawks could actually put both Svi and Greene on the floor together. In those instances, Selden and probably Graham would go out for a spell. I didn't really account for that in that post with you earlier, where I was thinking out-loud about your comment--what could happen if we get both of them hot at the same time. So it's a nice, indirect response to that. The more the merrier, that's for sure!

I really did enjoy watching Svi come through today. Hopefully he will become that consistent player off of the bench. I just love watching him play. He has fundamentals that are hard to come by in college basketball these days and his love of the game shows in his play. I never get the impression that he makes mistakes due to not playing with effort.
Here is to 12 in a row. What a great season so far. Self should be coach of the year.

Hear! Hear!
