I will say that the Tech player, after grabbing the rebound, ran towards midcourt and, while celebrating, traveled in the process. I felt like OU should've gotten the ball back with about .5 seconds left.
Oh well, I'll take it, baby!

SO, what does this mean? It means, sports fans, that we now root HARD for OU to beat the Hillbillies in Morgantown this weekend, since that would leave both teams 2 games back of KU (if we can squish the grapes) heading down the stretch.
PS: Big loss for UNC on their home court tonight as well, going down to a suddenly very hot Puke team.

I agree with you, port, but I feel sorry for OU because the refs screwed them not twice, but 3 times in those closing seconds. I watched the last few seconds of the game on the recording several times, and TT committed 2, not just 1, uncalled foul. And you are absolutely correct about the travel, OU should have gotten the ball back with about .5 seconds left, and by NCAA rules that's enough time to inbound the ball and put up a shot.
I'm not saying OU would have won or even sent the game to overtime, but they should have had the opportunity to do so, and the whistle swallowing referees robbed them of that chance.

THAT is what worries me a lot about the game at Bramlage. If you see this guy working our game there...
...you'd best strap on your seat belts very tight, because there WILL be turbulence. John Higgins is his name, and he likes to be the center of attention. He's not quite in the same league as this infamous buffoon from past KU history (Ed Hightower)...
...but he's certainly making a name for himself these days.
The ONLY thing that will enable the Grapes to hang with a far superior KU team, in my view, is to have the refs working to even the playing field. Or for KU to just have a complete face-plant (which is much less likely this year, given how we can spread around the badness or goodness on any one occasion--it's tough for all the guys to be one or the other).

I can only imagine if they called the travel and then had to clear the court of all the fans. And if OU hit a game-winning shot with .5 sec left. That would've been wild...

now we know how frustrated Kansas fans felt under Roy. Underachievers most years. Mind boggling coaching.

It's all come full circle, as I am the guy who now suffers through Andy Reid's poor clock management with the Chiefs (and hearing "I told you so's" from Philly fans)...then segueing now to UNC fan laments on Roy's timeouts (or lack thereof).
PS: I saw some comments online somewhere last night that he was teared up in the post-game presser. He used to save that for the post-season when he was at KU...guess he's starting earlier now.

I looked up their guard numbers earlier, and they're pretty ridiculous for a freshman and sophomore:
* Ingram (frosh): 17.3 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 41% 3PFGM
* Allen (soph): 20.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 42% 3PFGM
This continues a streak (from last year's NC team) of Coach Kookywookyhuey being very comfortable playing, developing, and growing his young stud recruits.
Dangerous team, potentially, if they continue to gel...

I thought the Big 12 ref/zebra we dislike is the one named "Self." Anyway that name rings a bell as a ref we talked about earlier in the year. Cannot recall the game now. I almost think it was a home game......
It's Thursday and it's an all day "better have a snickers" day.
We got/had a nice rain yesterday afternoon and evening......Happy in so cal!

Let's pray neither are in Manhattan Saturday, much less both. I have a VERY bad feeling about the officiating going into that one...
