“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Great facts from Kerkhoff's wrap tonight:
Monday’s victory marked the 80th completed Big 12 regular-season series in the Bill Self era and Kansas has never been swept.
Oklahoma State could have turned the trick after upsetting the Jayhawks in Stillwater last month.
But it just doesn’t happen to the program that’s won 11 straight Big 12 titles. Monday’s outcome gave Kansas 26 series splits in the Self era. The Jayhawks have posted 54 sweeps.
That's one great reason why KU so consistently takes the Big 12. Along with holding serve at home and stealing some big wins on the road, it's a sure recipe for success. And all pretty darn amazing...

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Here's to that fact still being true after Saturday, March 5, 2016.

Yep, you have an acute eye, kind sir. I thought about that after I posted it, but then fell asleep. (LOL)
We have to beat Iowa State at home (on senior night, in the final conference game) to keep said streak alive--never getting swept by a foe in the Self era.
Here's hoping the boys acquit themselves well on the road, take care of business, then wrap it all up with a nice, big, shiny bow on March 5th.
