I’m now seeing multiple reports that Hurt may now be leaning toward Puke, especially with Tre Jones deciding to stay.
I hope we land some quality guys soon.

In other news, there is smoldering talk about 2020 recruits looking to reclassify to 2019, and these two are interested in KU.
2020 RECLASSIFYING TO 2019?
PG 05/***** R.J. Hampton 6-5/170 Little Elm, TX/Little Elm
C 08/***** N'Faly Dante 6-10/225 Bel Aire, KS/ Sunrise Christian Academy
Matt Tait on RJ Hampton.
In a conversation earlier today with JayhawkSlant Senior Writer Shay Wildeboor, R.J.'s father Rod Hampton gushed about all things KU.
N'Faly Dante's top two choices are currently LSU and KU, and if he reclassifies the thought is that he may choose KU, given the issues with current LSU coach Will Wade... and possibly bring his **** Sunrise Christian 2019 classmate Grant Sherfield (G, 6-2/185) with him.
Currently looking for something of substance regarding any quality grad transfers KU may be talking with now. I will post more as I learn anything.

According to 247Sports, Rayjon Tucker is considering Memphis, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Auburn, North Carolina, Kansas, Louisville, Arizona, Arizona State, South Carolina and Iowa State.
IF KU is interested, Bill will almost certainly talk with Joe Dooley about Rayjon, as RT played his first two years for Joe at FGCU.

TJ Holyfield, Stephen F. Austin
6-8/227
Out last season with a shoulder injury.
As a freshman he started every game on the Lumberjacks NCAA Tournament team.
As a junior:
GP/S 35/35
PPG 12.9, RPG 6.4, and 1.3 BPG in 27 minutes per game.
FG 55%167-305
3PT 41% 28-68
FT 75% 89-119
Named to Southland Conference All-Defensive team.
Would be a solid get. He is also visiting Miami, Oregon, Illinois and Texas Tech.
IU and TT will be tough competitors. IU coach Brad Underwood recruited him to SFA and was his coach for that freshman NCAA run.

GP/S 35/35

FG 53.7% 188-350
3PT 44.8% 69-154
FT 85% 103-121
I would be thrilled to see Jake come to KU for his final season!
Getting both Jake and TJ Holyfield would be a transfer recruiting coup imo.
Caveat: possible he follows his former UVU coach Mark Pope to BYU.

Congrats to Christian!
Second year in a row a KU recruit has been awarded the top metro prep honor.

Kansas just offered 2020 @teamloadednc wing Josh Hall @JayhawkSlant n.rivals.com/content/prospe…
3* SF 6-9/190 currently ranked 139 in 2020 Rivals Top 150
Hickory, NC
Moravian Prep Academy
Also has offers from Cincinnati and NC State.
Another NC kid (see Graham, D). Definitely looks like a project recruit, but with the staff just offering him (and see Bossi comment below), it seems they see potential they don't want to let get away.
Of note, Rivals national analyst Eric Bossi comments:
"Hall has a good chance to be a spring riser.* Also interesting to note that he was originally a class of 2019 kid (well I have to double check to be sure, but I'm 99.9% sure) so he might be a possibility to play somewhere next season if his academics are on track."
NOTES
*If he stays in the Class of 2020
NB the underlining in the above quote is mine for emphasis.

This one should be a Jayhawk.

Cassius Stanley announces his decision WED April 17
and Matthew Hurt
FRI April 19.
Most gurus are now predicting Hurt to Poach K. Some are saying the same regarding Stanley.
I would love to land Hurt, but he does look like the skinny kid who will get pushed around at the next level. Of course if he’s mostly shooting 3s that won’t matter as much.
Still...

KU didn't really go after him until late, so not a real surprise he did not pick KU, but MSU is not happy losing the Detroit kid to sunny Miami.

First, Slant poster kufan_22 noted that Enaruna was "Very Kelly Oubre like as far as athletic ability. Not Wiggins level of an athlete but a much better athlete then the Lawson brothers."
Grayhawker responded to that comment about Enaruna's athleticism with this comment on his skill set.
He can't be over guarded to the left or right hand, goes both ways strong much like DL. Shows almost guard level skills with the ball on the move. Shoots around the hoop and passes equallty strong with both hands.
Grayhawker subsequently noted that more recent articles on Enaruna indicate he has grown to 6-10. Will be interesting to see where he ends up in the final Rivals rankings for this year.
I very much like what I'm reading about the lad.

1. Affinity for a particular school (a la Mitch Lightfoot)
2. Affinity for a particular coach (a la Brandon Francis at Texas Tech)
3. Promise or expectation of playing time
4. Exposure on national TV
5. Potential to make it to the NCAA
6. Simply winning lots of games
7. Affinity for other recruits
8. Affinity for other team members
9. Proximity to parents
10. Good system fit for talents
11. Belief that coaching staff will best develop their talent
12. School reputation (lots of possibilities here)
13. Recruiting visit mojo (think Louisville)
14. Arena and fan support
So I am guessing that a shrewd recruiter ascertains the thoughts of a recruit and formulates a counter argument against the key competition. If, as it is believed, that Hurt was for a long time leaning to KU and was convinced to change to Duke, it seems reasonable to assume that Coach K (and staff) did an effective job of countering the motives of Hurt for attending KU. Given that there are “issues” surrounding the KU program at present, it is reasonable to assume that arguments can be made against the following above motivations of the recruit.
2. Affinity for a particular coach — Self is short-lived. He will be abandoning the a sinking ship or possibly forced out
4. Exposure on National TV — KU will be weak and not have national TV appeal or may be shunned due to all the potential violations
5. Potential to make it to the NCAA — KU’s problems may result in being banned from the NCAA
6. Simply winning lots of games — KU has not landed any recruits and will not be very good.
10 Good system fit for talents — KU is changing and coaching staff may be gone
11. Belief that coaching staff will best develop their talents - The coaching staff may be gone
12. School reputation — KU’s reputation is sinking and headed to a nadir
Hurt is likely to have 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12 as primary motives. Therefore Coach K had ample potential to counter most of his motives.
Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!

Huge plus for next year for KU, and a chance for Dok to improve his NBA stock while completing his college degree.

Would love to get them both, especially if Silvio doesn’t return.
Note: Tucker has visited WVU, Memphis and Auburn (this past weekend), and Tucker says Auburn is the leader after his visit there. He visits ISU May 3-5, then finishes with KU. Glad KU is last.
Holyfield has already visited Tech, and still has at least Illinois to visit IIRC. Not sure of the rest of his visit schedule.
