I swear I've been stepping in a slide zone my entire life, slipping between my current reality to a very similar but "missed it by that much" different one on occasion. The human mind, what a thing to conceive...
Anyway, last week I was a week ahead in posting this. Don't know how I messed up the dates, but there it is.
Here it is again, properly placed in time...
MLB's All-Star Game Weekend starts today. The link again for those interested --
mlb.com: MLB All-Star Week Schedule .

The Lawrence forecast from Accuweather.com:
Today: Pleasant with sun and patchy clouds. Hi: 85° F (29.4° C)
Tonight: Mainly clear. Lo: 61° F (16.1° C)
Chance of precipitation: 25% during the day, 3% overnight.

That is all for now.

Hope you have a GREAT day!

ROCK CHALK!

✦ Thought for the Day
“I have discovered in life that there are ways of getting almost anywhere you want to go, if you really want to go.”
- Langston Hughes, the great American author and poet, considered a, if not *the*, leader of "the Harlem Renaissance" in the early half of the 20th Century. Born in Joplin, MO (1901 or 2, sources vary), family events led to him being raised for much of his early childhood by his maternal grandmother Mary Patterson Langston in heavily segregated Lawrence, KS until her death in 1915. She remained a prime inspiration for him throughout his life. Lawrence and the University of Kansas remember Hughes in various ways, two examples being Langston Hughes Elementary School and the annual Langston Hughes Creative Writing Awards for local area authors and poets. For more on his time in Lawrence, see Langston Hughes in Lawrence: Photographs and Biographical Resources, December 10, 2004 by Denise Low and T F Pecore Weso

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
