NBA DRAFT ROUND 1 is TONIGHT!
Good luck, Johnny Jayhawk!
And hang in there, Kevin, your time will come!
An aside before really getting started - the RCB server apparently went down around 7:10 CT this morning or this would have been out before I had to take our youngest dog in for her 1 year rabies - and other - vaccinations. You'd think I would have learned by now to always do the initial write up on my free LibreOffice Writer word processor and then just tweak it in the RCB before publishing. Ah, well, "old dogs" indeed...
How many days until LATE NIGHT in The PHOG! ?

• Per Shay Wildeboor @Rivals JayhawkSlant Rivals#3 2025 player SG Darryn Peterson (6-5/190) finished his official visit to KANSAS yesterday. Per his dad Darryl: "Incredible". "amazing", "rich history", "very exciting", "What stood out the most to Darryn is when Coach Self said ask the hard questions and a question that came from most competitors is why would a guard like Darryn go to a big man driven school like Kansas and Self was prepared, had all stats going back to 2016 of all averages and accolades of players just to prove the facts that he’s had a ton of success with guards and Darryn could have even more at a place like Kansas."
Shay's comment of note - "While Peterson didn't commit to Kansas on his visit and plans to take additional visits before reaching a final decision, I'm not sure Coach Self and his staff could have done a better job hosting one of the truly elite players in the 2025 class. Kansas was a major player before Peterson arrived on campus and did an amazing job from start to finish... I really love where Kansas stands with Peterson
Shay also noted that in a recent conversation with the father of Rivals #9 2025 Player PG Darius Acuff, Jr Shay learned that Junior wasn't making a decision in the immediate future. Squid/Arkansas is believed to be KANSAS' major competition for him. Someone close to the situation told Shay "nobody knows for sure what Darius Acuff, Jr., will ultimately do or when he'll reach a final decision."

• This morning Rivals JayhawkSlant main man Jon Kirby listed 13 high school 2025 recruits he is still tracking as possible future Jayhawks. He states "Anybody with a 30-35% chance is still very much in play but there are a lot of factors with other teams involved. Any recruit a 25% chance or under, the Jayhawks are an underdog to get."
Gabe Daniels- WR- main competition Syracuse. Best chance of remaining HS to become a Jayhawk. Chance- 60%
Nigel Pringle- CB- main competition Arkansas. Hoping Arkansas takes another CB and doesn't have room for him. Chance- 45%
Bryson Williams- S/LB- main competitor for BW is Michigan State (then Pitt). Chance- 35%
Isaiah Mozee- WR- currently committed to Oregon. If Mozee wants to stay close to home, though, KU might be the pick. "He's not talking much about his recruiting because he is still committed." Chance- 35%
Muizz Tounkara- WR- main competition Arizona. MT is "still thinking things over and has yet to make silent commitment to any staff." Chance-40%
Brock Heath- OL- Main competition KSU and Northwestern. Chance- 10%
Linkon Cure- TE- "I have said all along Jeff Grimes did a great job coming in late. He built a good relationship with Cure and his family, but I just don't feel KU in this one. Chance- 20%"
Jordan Fields- OL- KU, Pitt and Houston. Chance- 35%
Evan Haynes- WR- KU, Ga Tech, UNC and Colorado are all in play. "Haynes did say he likes the fact he could play early at KU. Chance- 35%"
LaRue Zamorano- CB- Competition is Washington, then Michigan State. JK doesn't know if LZ can be lured away from the west coast. Chance-35%
Tavian McNair- WR- hearing Utah has emerged as the front-runner. Chance- 20%
Andrew Williams- OL - BYU. Parents are alums, they are Mormon, but word is it is AW's decision, there's no pressure to go to BYU. Chance-25%
Tylon Lee- DE- Miami, then UCF. He isn't in a rush to decide and doesn't talk a lot about his recruiting publicly. HS teammate Joeseph Skipworth is committed to Kansas, but apparently "with his family situation staying close to home may have an advantage." Chance- 30%
