SI.com: SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey Again Suggests NCAA Tournament Expansion
As a rule I dislike the tremendously spiteful and exceedingly biased mOOster Pat Forde, but even a blind pig can find an acorn once in a while... And if Sankey is so keen on expanding the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament, and he truly believes his previous recommendation that the top 25% of all Division 1 programs should get a chance to participate in the postseason for the national championship in their sports, then why is the College Football Playoffs for the 134 Division 1 Football Bowl Series programs not set to have 16 (11.9%) or even 32 teams (23.8%) in it so there are no byes, everybody has to play the same number of games to earn the title? Having 16 teams (no byes) as opposed to the 12 now set for next season (where the top 4 teams get a bye that they certainly do NOT need if they are as good as they always seem to be) does not add another week of play to the postseason schedule. If just means that 4 more programs get a chance to compete for the ring while the big boys don't get the additional advantage they shouldn't need of a week off to recover and prepare for their first playoffs games.
[steps off soapbox]

The weather today in Lawrence is projected to be cloudy and cooler with a high of 71F (21.7 C), a low of 62F (16.7 C) and an 88% chance for showers and a thunderstorm later in the evening and into Friday morning. Well, that 88% is now of *further* precipitation today as it just finished raining as I post this morning.

That is all for now.

Hope you have a GREAT day!

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
