How many days until LATE NIGHT in The PHOG!

and other dates of interest...*Estimate based on first Friday in October. Official announcement expected in July 2024.
KU MEN'S HOOPS -
With both our Johnny and potential transfer target BYU G Jaxson Robinson staying in the NBA draft, KU Men’s hoops has 2 scholarship openings to fill for AY2024-25. IMO Self & Co will look to fill one more ride and use the 13 spot to pay off the last NCAA penalty. No indication yet who might be in KU’s target finder now that Robinson is off the table. If there was any word at all of any other definite KU interests besides Furphy and Robinson I might think Self would be planning to fill both openings. But I’ve always felt Self was looking to fill 12 and keep 13 for Johnny or else use as penalty payment, so...
OTHER KU ATHLETICS NEWS -
• As noted yesterday, Kansas Athletics Director Travis Goff received a pay raise and contract extension through May 31, 2031. Great news for Travis and for KU!
• KUFB - Lindy Sports concludes “"A manageable schedule puts Kansas in play to make the Big 12 title game."

Notable NBA draft withdrawals returning to college -
Caleb Love, Arizona
Mark Sears, Alabama
Alex Karaban, UConn
A hope of mine - that Illinois big man Coleman Hawkins ends up being the guy filling that 12th ride for KU. I just love the idea of having a guy named Coleman Hawkins making hoops “music” so close to Kansas City.
As I post this, the weather today in Lawrence is projected to be partly cloudy with a high of 81F (27.2 C), a low of 65F (18.3 C) and a chance for thunderstorms later in the evening and into Friday morning. The Accuweather current chance of precipitation is 56%.
That is all for now.
Hope you have a GREAT day!

Update on Jaxson Robinson - he *did* withdraw from the draft (just took his time to announce it, but the paperwork was filed on time) and is following his old BYU coach Mark Pope to UK for AY2024-25.
