KU MEN'S HOOPS -

• Friday’s updated ESPN mock draft has Johnny at #18.
ESPN+: 2024 NBA draft rankings: Jonathan Givony's top 100 prospects

Write up: ”As the NCAA's withdrawal deadline approaches, teams have indicated Furphy has only worked out for spots in the lottery. His decision whether to return to Kansas will likely go down to the wire, depending on how the coming days go and whether he likes his options. Scouts have been intrigued by Furphy's mix of size, skill and smooth athleticism, particularly at his age and early stage of physical development.
He looked good in workout settings at the combine and shoots it well already, with the main questions being how much better he can get defensively (an area where he struggles) and how much his body might progress. He should be an attractive upside swing for a team, whether it's this year or next year's draft.” -- Woo

• On Friday Shay Wildeboor repeated his reminder about the possibility of KU landing 6-7/190 senior G Jaxson Robinson should the BYU transfer withdraw from the NBA draft (he’s #66 on the ESPN mock draft listing linked above). He knows that know that many just expect Robinson to follow his BYU coach Mark Pope to Kentucky, but “Kansas has made it clear where Robinson stands and has made a strong push.” From what he’s been told, “Jaxson Robinson is a name to keep an eye on moving forward.”

It's a sunny Saturday in Lawrence as the extended family prepares to celebrate our college and high school graduates with a big to do in Broken Arrow Park. There is a chance of damaging winds, hail & rain later tonight - in other words, it's a typical Kansas spring day. Currently 64F (17.8C) this morning, high today expected to be around 83F (28.3C).

That is all for now.

Hope you have a GREAT day!

ROCK CHALK!
