Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Just read the article on ESPN about the current state of the ACC with only 3 projected teams in the NCAA which would be an all-time low since expansion for any conference (as a percentage of total teams in the conference). It gave a brief discussion of the various woes by team and why they are down. The net-net was that most teams just can’t overcome the loss of talent to graduation or early leaving forever. Knock on wood but it made me reflect on the amazing run that KU has had under Self and Williams. UNC is ranked something like 90th overall. Virginia is in the 60’s. Both teams are very likely to miss the NCAA. In the case of UNC, it is not even close. Kentucky has vacillated between elite competitor to decent team with an occasional dud. KU had an almost unimaginable down season last season and we still made a 4 seed and stayed in the top 25. And that was what I personally consider to be one of the worst seasons in 30 years. How fortunate we have been and I hope continue to be. I am not by my computer but one of the things I track is the AP Poll. I have a spreadsheet that adds up all the weeks in the poll and the average ranking. Since Self has come to Lawrence, Kansas and Duke are clear and away the top 2 teams in consistency in the poll. And it is not really close. Thanks Coach Self.

Given that Dotson will more than likely go pro, our lineup next year would be as follows:
SENIORS
F Silvio De Sousa (S)
G Marcus Garrett (S)
F Mitch Lightfoot* (S)
G Chris Teahan (W)
JUNIORS
G Ochai Agbaji (S)
G Elijah Elliott (W)
C David McCormack (S)
F Tyon Grant Foster (JUCO with 2 years left)
SOPHOMORES
G Christian Braun (S)
F Tristan Enaruna (S)
G Michael Jankovich (W)
F Jalen Wilson (S)
FRESHMAN
G Dajuan Harris* (S)
G Bryce Thompson (S)
C Gethro Muscadin (S)
G Latrell Jossell (S)
There is a ton of potential here, but a lot of unproven or questionable parts as well.
Agbaji: After a sensational entry into the fray last year Agbaji has cooled of a great deal. We will need him to step it back up and play a major role next year.
DeSousa: Had spurts of getting it last year, this year appears to be completely lost. He needs to figure it out and do so in a hurry
Garrett: Steadily improving and if he ever develops a consistent shot will be a major factor. I am not as convinced as Self is that he is our PG of the future, but it could happen
Lightfoot: Love the guy, but he is what he is. I do not see him ever dominating a game, but he brings life and energy and we will need that.
McCormack: On the verge of putting it all together, He will need to fill big shoes next year. Can he do that?
Braun: Everything seems to be finally clicking. Will it stick or will he revert the way Agbaji has?
Enaruna: Enigma Those words look similar for a reason. He looks like he will be special, but then disappears. Can he gain consistency?
Wilson: Haven’t seen enough to even question him. Hopefully he comes back strong from his injury.
A lot of questions. A lot of potential. Next year could go either way, in my opinion. The good news is that Self always seems to find a way to get all the pieces to mesh. He will have his work cut out for him next year.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
You left out Tyon. Self made a comment earlier this season that if Tyon were on this season’s roster, he would be the best -layer on the team. That is pretty exciting.
