Roy Williams - "It was a lot more fun sitting there watching the way we played tonight (vs. games in Buckler Challenge in France), because I thought we really played with a lot of intensity. In the first fourteen or fifteen minutes of the first half I thought they had a great game plan. They executed very well, and I looked up one time and it was 33-30. From that point on in the first half and then to the end we were really good. And in the second half our defense was really something. I talked to them at the half about they (Cornell) were 6-14 from the three-point line in the first half, and we had to do a better job of getting up on them. And in the second half we got a hand up on just about every shot they attempted. Plus our pressure was better, too.

"It's (3FG%) got to balance out , because a blind guy can shoot it just about as good as we shot it in the Meadowlands (vs Temple). You take away Jerod, and it was 0-for-New Jersey. I think our whole game got lost in the Lincoln Tunnel. But you've got to balance it out a little bit, and we did shoot it better tonight. And I am still convinced this is going to be a good shooting team.

"I was really extremely pleased with our crowd, considering it was no school, the Fiesta Bowl's on TV, Lawrence High's at home.... I still say we've got the best crowd in America.

"We haven't had much time to practice. I can go back and count to make sure, but I think we've only had three full practices since December 10th because of exams going on, and travel, and guys going home and coming back, and playing games.... And you can't continue to improve if you have to do it that way. We went twice yesterday, once just shooting, and we're going to go twice tomorrow and do it the same way."

CU coach Al Walker - "We got in serious foul trouble, but more power to Kansas. They stuck their three-point field goals, and they posted us inside. Kansas turned it up, and we had to make a decision whether to play them inside or on the perimeter. We played them inside, and when they stuck their threes, that was the ball game. We can't play inside and outside against a team like Kansas. We're not used to playing that caliber of athletes.

"I don't believe we played over our heads in that first half. We just played good. We're going to focus on that first half. We're proud of the way we competed. I'm sure our fans are proud of us, but disappointed too."
