| "Northern Colorado is not a great team, but we played pretty
good considering how many guys we played. I wanted everybody to go into
Christmas feeling good, and we wanted to get some guys some minutes. So I
was real pleased with how some different individuals played. There are some
obvious things we need to do. We need to get Sasha and C.J. playing the way
they’re capable of playing, and we’ve got to eliminate some unforced errors
and that kind of stuff. But there were some good things that happened in
this game.
"I thought Julian did some really good things; careless, but some good things. And I thought Darnell played pretty good. I don’t know if you’d call 12 and six (pts / reb) spectacular, but he played good and was pretty active. I thought he tried real hard defensively. I thought Hawk got us off to a good start. And another guy who played really good was Roderick Stewart. He was solid, and he’ll grade out pretty high on this just because he was in the right positions and trying to do the right things. And it was nice to see Jeremy get in there and make some shots. "I wanted to play Jeremy with the guys who have been playing the majority of the minutes in the first half because usually the minutes he gets are at the end of the game, and he did a good job coming in there. He knocked down a couple of shots. After he got his first one down, he relaxed and shot the ball well. Micah struggled tonight. He’s kind of in a little funk shooting the ball right now after shooting it so well. "We’re going home, too. We’re going home for a couple of days to Oklahoma to see both sets of parents, and to see if Santa Claus will make his way down south. Then we’ll be back here about mid-day on the 26th, because we practice that evening. And I think we’ve got Hawk Talk that night, so I’ve got to get back. And I hope everybody out there has a safe and very happy holiday. Enjoy it with your family, and let’s all get re-energized and come back ready to roll." |
