"We’re up ten at the half, and it should have been 16 or 18. We botched it. Unforced errors, breaks and lobs, and we haven’t seen Aaron have a game like that, not taking care of the ball. We made it so hard on ourselves. And when they went zone, we played like we were trying not to lose, and that’s what happens. You get passive and scared to make a pass, scared to make a play, or nervous to make a play, not scared. But we made enough plays, and we did a lot of good things. We were good on the glass, we shot the ball well, free throws down the stretch....

"The team only had 15 turnovers, but Aaron had eight of them. It’s so unlike him. And those turnovers led to easy points, and he knows that. Nobody would have felt worse if things didn’t work out. But he was due a game like this. We certainly made some plays. And JR, Keith, and Wayne were all terrific.

"Christian started on (Massey), and there’s no doubt Sasha did the best job on him. Sasha played really well, at least defensively. He did the best job on him. We couldn’t get through to Christian what his move was. He kept doing the same thing and creating fouls or getting the basket. We trapped him late and let him split us one time to give him two points. But all in all, a pretty good defensive effort except late. Just fouled too much.

"We did a real good job with the scouting report, educating them on tendencies and everything, but our guards didn’t do a good job of guarding (Peete). That’s the bottom line. He made a couple (three-pointers) that he earned, but a lot of times he just caught it with a decent look. I feel like we could have done a much better job on him and on Harris. I thought Harris hurt us also.

"You should never apologize for winning a game against your in-state rival wherever you play it. We played so well for about 30 minutes and then didn’t play well the last ten. But never apologize for beating a rival, especially on the road. It’s an amazing streak (22 in a row in Manhattan, 29 in a row vs KSU), and one that I haven’t had much to do with at all. There will be a time when it comes to an end. I just don’t want it to happen any time soon."
